Adopt

Hi, Mpumalanga residents!

Here are some of the parrots in our system that are currently in foster care and seeking their new forever families.

You can start by completing an adoption application (see buttons below). We try to avoid inter-provincial travel unless we really struggle to find a home in the original region, so this page is dedicated to applicants in Mpumalanga only.

Please kindly note that we are a volunteer-run organisation so it might take some time for us to get to your application, especially because we are currently trying to work through a backlog that has occurred as well.

Spotlight on: Kalani

Congo African Grey
📍Secunda, Mpumalanga

Kalani is an unsexed Congo African Grey that has been displaying a strong preference towards male-identifying carers. He/she is a gentle bird, but afraid and nervous of everything. She will likely do best in a quiet home without children or various other pets and a male-identifying person as her primary caregiver.
Kalani spent his/her life in a cage on one perch until his/her foster mom and adoption adviser came to the rescue. He/she was eating only black sunflower seeds. Shashistha has since managed to adjust his/her diet totally and Kalani is no longer as a seed addict.
He/she needs go to a home that can accomodate a cage-free lifestyle as much as possible.

If you would like to adopt this adorable African Grey, please complete an application form by clicking the links at the top of this page.
If you have applied in the past (there is no need to apply again) or would like more information, contact his adoption adviser, Shahistha, on +27 83 653 9755 to review your application in light of this specific bird.
